Morning Has Broken

This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Who I Am

My name is Deborah. I am a home schooling mother of five children. The oldest is now living away from home in the same state I grew up in, attending the same church. She is now 20 years old. Our second oldest is far away at Bible College having a great time. She is now 18 years old. Next comes our one and only son who is 14, another daughter that is 11 and our youngest at 3 years old.

We currently live in the mid-west. I say ‘currently’ because we have moved around a lot in our 23 years of marriage. I have enjoyed all the places we’ve lived…each has had its good and bad points…but it has been an experience.

I have been a Believer for almost 35 years. I was raised in a Christian family…my grandfather having a great impact on my spiritual beliefs now. I try to live my life as unto God and teach my children the same. Some of my posts have reflected that.

I enjoy home-decorating, sewing, gardening…is landscaping included in that? :) I also enjoy writing and I posted on that the other day, so I won’t go into that here. Check out the ‘writing’ catagory if you are interested.

Enjoy your time here and please comment if you have time. I’d love to hear from you!

I googled, “Morning Has Broken”, and your website was listed.

I just wanted to say…

May the grace of God, and the powerful spirit of our Lord, Jesus Christ, be with you on this most blessed day.

Thank you, Scott for stopping by and for your gracious comment. Every ‘Morning That Breaks’ is a new day for me to apply your last sentence. I pray the same for you!

“Morning Has Broken”, the tune, has a special signficance for me, MHB. I lost my wife to cancer a little over two years ago, and her 42nd birthday would have been this Wednesday, 3/26/08. It is at times like these that I think about her, more acutely around anniversaries/birthdays, and that song/hymn was one of our favorite. We sang it together often in church.

I hear it now, and I’m filled with emotion; bittersweet heartache, but also so much love. Like Scott, I googled “Morning Has Broken”, and found your site. God bless you for uplifting messages.

Rejoice in the Lord always,

-Ryan

Reading your comments brought tears to my eyes, Ryan.

I am 43 years old and to have lost your wife at such a young age must have been extremely difficult.

I pray that your road to healing continues to lessen with the pain of losing a dear spouse. As you said, she will always be with you in memories such as the song you listened to and sang together and although bittersweet we still cherish those remembrances until we can be reunited with that loved one in heaven as Believers.

I too hear the song and I rejoice in the Lord always! This is the day He has made! Blessings to you, Ryan!
